Meet Your Instructors
Mrs. Mary Mouring
“Teaching is my calling. For me, education is not a means to an end, but my purpose in life.”
Mary Mouring has been teaching and developing learners for 20 years. Mrs. Mouring’s specialty is upper elementary-aged students with a focus on sparking a love for math even among the most apprehensive learners. Mrs. Mouring began her career with the Los Angeles Unified School District working in some of the nation’s most challenging and diverse education environments. She was recognized for her work as Outstanding Teacher of the Year for the County of Los Angeles and was a finalist for the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Mrs. Mouring contributed to the successful opening of two charter middle schools in Los Angeles, started three elementary/middle school MESA (Mathematics/Engineering/Science Achievement) clubs, participated as a fellow in the USC Research Experience for Teachers, been recognized by the National Science Foundation for bringing STEM opportunities to elementary students, and served as a fellow in UCLA’s Math Collaborative. Although Mrs. Mouring could step out of a classroom to pursue other interests, her calling is to teach. She finds herself often immersed in a classroom of struggling learners nurturing in them a deep and meaningful learning experience.
Ms. Rachel Amstutz

Ms. Amstutz achieved National Board Certification in Early Adolescence Mathematics in 2004, and renewed it in 2014. Launching A to Z Education Consulting has allowed Ms. Amstutz to expand her contributions to children, families, schools, school leaders and education broadly.
